Family:  Arhynchobatidae (Softnose skates)
Max. size:  100 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range - 297 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan. Not in Compagno's 1999 checklist (Ref. 35766).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  The paratype was collected from depth of 287 m (Ref. 6797). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205).
IUCN Red List Status: Not Evaluated (N.E.) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
