Family:  Arhynchobatidae (Softnose skates)
Max. size:  81.6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 19 - 181 m
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Type specimen taken from a depth of about 24 m (Ref. 26282). Oviparous (Ref. 50449). Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell (Ref. 205). Feeds on fishes, crustaceans and cephalopods (Ref. 57911).
