Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 26-26. Astroblepus bellezaensis is distinguished by having completely developed adipose membrane, 6 branched soft radii associated to third radial, premaxillary with 1-3 bicuspid teeth and 8-12 conic teeth in external row, and 26 vertebrae (Ref. 116456)
