Ecology of Hydrolagus affinis

Main Ref. Hardy, G.S. and M. Stehmann, 1990
Remarks Found on continental slopes and down to deep-sea plains. Feeds on small fishes and invertebrates (Ref. 3330). Epibenthic or bottom benthopelagic. Dwells in rarity from coastal margins and off bottoms. Associated with deep, cold-water coral reefs. Feeds mainly on benthic and epibenthic invertebrates, suggesting active hunting behavior. Possibly nocturnal. Oviparous (Ref. 117245).
