Observaciones Juveniles can tolerate temperature and salinity extremes, such as those found in the gulfs in South Australia and the Coorong (Ref. 6390). During winter and spring, first year juveniles and probably larvae of Western Australian salmon drift and migrate across the Great Australian Bight to the sheltered waters of South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania (Ref. 6390). This movement is initially influenced by the eastward-flowing Leeuwin Current (Ref. 27977). Some also disperse northwards along the New South Wales coast. Juveniles of 5-8 cm FL appear in South Australian bays and inlets between July and September (Ref. 27960, 27977), and in Victorian and Tasmanian waters between August and October (Ref. 27960, 27967, 27977, 740). Juvenile fish in South Australia do not form large schools until their first or second years, when they measure 35-40 cm FL (Ref. 27996).
