Remarks: Area of infection is specifically located in the posterior part of the intestine. The infestation was also reported in the localities of Mato Grosso do Sul: Miranda River, Salobra; State of Sao Paulo: Porto Cabral, ParanĂ¡ River (Travassos 1923, Travassos et al. 1939, Hamman 1982a, b). The parasite feeds on the contents of the host's (grass-eating fish) intestine (Travassos 1956).
