| Remarks: | The infestation occurred specifically in the localities of Cuaibá and Sao Lourenco river, Mato Grosso and Mogi Guacu river, State of Sao Paulo (Travassos et al. 1928, Costa 1960, 1961, Costa et al. 1968, Hamman 1982b, Vicente et al. 1885, Kohn and Fernandes 1987). The infestation was also recorded in Amazon River basin in the same country in the localities of Trombetas and Jari Rivers, Pará State; Uatuma, Pitinga and Capucapu Rivers, Amazonas State, and Araguari River, Amapá State (Moravec and Thatcher 1997b). | ||
