Comments: Found in Chowan, Roanoke, Tar and Neuse River drainages in Virginia and North Carolina. Localized; populations decreased at least in part due to competition with introduced Ambloplites rupestris (Ref. 5723). Status of threat: vulnerable; status same as 1989. Criteria: 1,4 (http://fisc.er.usgs.gov/afs/) (Ref. 81264).
