خارهاي باله پشتي (کل) : 0; شعاع نرم باله پشتي (کل) : 17 - 21; خارهاي باله مخرجي: 0; شعاع نرم باله مخرجي: 21 - 25. Body compressed. Caudal fin truncate in young and slightly emarginate. Caudal peduncle compressed, without a keel. Attains 1m TL.

Oviparous (Ref. 205). Eggs may be found attached to objects in the water by tendrils on the egg's surface (Ref. 205).
