Remarks |
'balde', i.e., the general name for species belonging to this family. During the rainy season, when the bush lands are filled with water, this species migrates to the 'marigots' and spawn in the 'mares' (Diabé Sow). They spawn at the end of the rainy season and as soon as the eggs are hatched, the juveniles migrate to the river (Moussa Dia). Once they migrate towards the river, they are fished with barriers which are constructed at the Goccin-xaare exit (Mamadou Lamine Bathily). Fishing at the right bank of the river in front of Bakel is between December and January and ends in February when the 'balde' is not seen anymore (Demba Traoré). |
