Remarks Name used for the non-speckled/non-spotted brook trout found in a restricted portion of Timiskaming District, Ontario whose natural stock has been decimated; 'aurora', from Latin 'aurora', i.e., dawn, the east; 'trout' from Middle English from Old English 'truht' from Low Latin 'trocta, tructa', i.e., a fish with sharp teeth, from Greek 'troktes', i.e., gnawer, from 'trogein', i.e., to gnaw (p. 1266 in Ref. 11978).
