Short description Morphology | Morphometrics

Dorsal soft rays (total): 12; Anal soft rays: 8. Color pattern consisting of a wide longitudinal dark stripe superposed over the bar pattern and obscuring it, its width under dorsal origin is about 2.0-2.3 times in body depth; color pattern usually over a dark background (juveniles apparently go through various color patterns during their growth and large specimens usually dull dark brown). Lateral line reaching to below dorsal fin; complete black basal caudal bar; 8 1/2 branched dorsal rays; males without suborbital flap (Ref. 39226).

Biology     Glossary (e.g. epibenthic)

Estimates based on models

Phylogenetic diversity index (Ref. 82804):  PD50 = 0.5000   [Uniqueness, from 0.5 = low to 2.0 = high].
Bayesian length-weight: a=0.00692 (0.00311 - 0.01538), b=3.02 (2.85 - 3.19), in cm total length, based on LWR estimates for this Genus-body shape (Ref. 93245).
Trophic level (Ref. 69278):  3.0   ±0.3 se; based on size and trophs of closest relatives
Resilience (Ref. 120179):  Medium, minimum population doubling time 1.4 - 4.4 years (Preliminary K or Fecundity.).
Fishing Vulnerability (Ref. 59153):  Low vulnerability (10 of 100).
