Description: Characterized by mainly greyish mauve body color; whitish head with brown snout-interorbital and pair of brown bars, at level of eye and on opercle extending onto breast; yellow anterior two-thirds of anal fin; base of upper pectoral fin rays with black spot; juvenile mainly yellow with large blue-edged black spot at middle of dorsal fin; dorsal rays XIII,13; anal rays II,13; pectoral rays 17; gill rakers on first brachial arch 8+15, total rakers 23; tubed lateral line scales 15; vertical scale rows 27; scales above lateral line to base of middle dorsal spines 1.5; scales below lateral line to anus 8.5; circumpeduncular scales 12. Body depth 1.8-1.9 in SL (Ref. 90102). |
