Diagnosis |
This species is distinguished from the other four Barathronus species with a transparent peritoneum by the following set of characters: vomer with two fangs; ventral flexure of the anteriormost vertebrae; anterior gill arch with 20 long rakers; D 77, A 67, pectoral-fin rays 22; vertebrae precaudal 34, total 78; except for black lenses the preserved specimen, it is uniformly white-yellowish (Ref. 121928). |
