Diagnosis

Most of the body and head is brown, grading to pale tan or off-white on ventral portion; slight suffusion of yellow on head and nape; dark brown streak near margin of each scale, appearing as series of narrow transverse bands. A prominent dark brown to blackish spot occupying four scales is below the 15-16th tubed lateral line scale. The fins, most of soft dorsal, caudal peduncle and posteriormost part of body yellow; pectorals transparent with suffusion of yellow and a small dark brown spot superiorly at pectoral fin base. The rim of the anal opening is dark brown.
