Comments: | Introduction of grass carp caused significant changes in diversifying number of cultured fish species as well as fish community structure in Vietnam. Grass carp is fast growing species feeding mainly on aquatic vegetations and grass. This is a suitable cultured fish species for raising in ponds, cages and lakes particularly at mid-land high-land regions of Vietnam. Grass carp also fetched good price and income for the fish farmers. Ref: FAO, 1997 |
