Symptoms: White cotton-wool appearance on skin and gills, eyes can be afflicted, fraying and lossing of fins, errosion of jaw tissue, blindness.   
Treatments: A variety of external disinfectants treatments may be used, e.g. malachite green, copper sulfate, potassium permanganate, salt and formalin.  
Prophylaxis: Fish should be maintained under good husbandry conditions, correct feeding regimes, avoidance of overcrowded conditions and good water quality. Disinfect wounds.
