Symptoms: | Development of lesions commonly in the fins, emaciation, retarded growth in juvemiles, loss of appetite, swimminng in straight lines and occational loss of movement, dark pigmentation, distended belly, exopthalmia, and haemorrhage on the operculum and abdomen. | |
Treatments: | Good care of the infected fish. Increasing gradually the water temperature to 25° to 30°C in steps of 2° to 3°C a day. Use fish food with immuno-stimulants, vitamin C and the likes. | |
Prophylaxis: | ||
Remarks: | This pox cannot be rubbed off by hand. This disease typically occurs during the autum, this is the time when the water temperature is below 17°C. | |
