Fish affected: Salmonidae   
Symptoms: Inflammation and errosion of jaw and isthmus, emaciation, darkening, red opercula, red fin bases, haemorrhages on intestine containing yellow fluid, stomach with clear fluid.  
Treatments: Sulfamerazine 265 mg/kg/d fish for 3 days, 154 mg/kg/d for 11 days. Oxytetracycline 55 mg/kg/d for 10 days (POST).  
Prophylaxis: Quarantine. Optimal water conditions.   
Remarks: Also Ref. 48849. Other animals have also been recorded to have been infected by the disease, animals like Otter (Collins et al., 1996), Muskrat (Stevenson and Daly, 1982), Kestrel, Turkey vulture (Bangert et al., 1988), Gulls (Willumsen, 1989) and even earthworms (Dales and KaIac). Records of humans infected by the disease was recorded by Farmer et al. (1985).
