Remarks: | Infestation commonly occurs in the liver and intestine. Besides 1974 (Anon.), the infestation was also recorded in 1968 (Ali) with no specific locality cited. The record from freshwater fishes of Bangladesh may involve a misidentification, the parasite Anchistrocephalus microcephalus is the only member of it's genus (Rudolphi, 1819) and a parasite of the ocean sunfish (Mola mola) (see Wardle and McLeod 1952). |
