| Remarks: | The infection were specifically reported in the localities of Ilha de Marchantaria, River Rio Solimoes, Amazonas State (Amazon River), and reservoir of hydroelectric power station of Itaipú, Foz do Iguaçú, Sau Paulo State (Paraná River) (Ferraz and Thatcher 1992, Moravec, Kohn and Fernandes 1993a). This fish species is not a common host of this parasite. | ||
