Abundance: common (usually seen) 
Comments: Put in the Blue List, since 2003 (Gaydos et al., 2011). Occurs along the coast. Freshwater records from Vancouver and the Queen Charlotte Islands, the lower Fraser, the Stikine, Taku and Alsek Rivers, and rivers of the central coast (Ref. 10882). Banned from commercial exploitation in northern British Columbia but a commercial fishery exists in the lower reaches of the Fraser River (Ref. 6885). Taken with gillnets and hooks and lines by game fishers who have a daily limit of 20 kg. Gillnets should be <7.5 m in length, mesh size >25mm but <50 mm (Ref. 11007). Also Ref. 52559, 78809, 95155.
