Type locality, Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, ZMB 7479 (holotype of Tetragonopterus aeneus Hensel 1870, male, 7.8 cm SL). Known from the rio dos Sinos and rio Taquari drainages in Southern Brazil. Both rivers are tributaries of the lago Guaíba which is located next to the city of Porto Alegre, and is the northernmost component of the laguna dos Patos system (Ref. 56653). |
