Evermann and Goldsborough 1907 (Ref. 11366) report two dead specimens washed ashore on a mud flat at the Point Highfield cannery in 1903; two individuals caught at Sunny Bay, Taku Inlet also in 1903; old records from Hassler Harbor and St. Michael; and that this species has been trawled at various places in Alaska by the Albatross. In Range Ref. 50224 (Arctic Ocean); North Pacific specimens may be referring to S. pacificus.
