Western Central Pacific: Sundaland and Indochina (Ref. 7050). Known from lowland rivers from Thailand to Indonesia and ascends the Mekong as far as Khoné Falls (Ref. 12693).

Head about as deep as wide; rounded snout; without teeth on palate (Ref. 43281).

Occurs in large lowland rivers. Diets consists of bivalve mollusks, crustaceans, aquatic macrophytes and plant detritus. Marketed fresh (Ref. 12693).
