Comments: Known only from the Julian Lakes, Carters Lake, Lake Dudley, Lake Ada and Ada and Talinah Lagoons (Ref. 51305). Recorded from the western portion of Tasmania's central plateau, Ouse and Little Pine river (Ref. 44894). Also Ref. 7300, 38180. Status of threat: to be listed as lower risk, near threatened (Ref. 51305).

Épines dorsales (Total): 0; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 9-11; Épines anales 0; Rayons mous anaux: 7 - 8; Vertèbres: 40 - 43. Anterior interorbital laterosensory pore well separated from the posterior nostril. Usually 2 pairs of pores below the lower jaw. Short gill rakers.

Biologie     Glossaire (ex. epibenthic)

Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Lives on rocky shores of lakes. Bottom-dweller of upland lakes and associated streams, frequently under and around rocks on gravel substrates (Ref. 44894). Feeds on insects, small crustaceans and mollusks.
