Facultative air-breathing in the genus (Ref. 126274); Adults inhabit rivers, creeks and billabongs, usually in quiet or slow-flowing water among vegetation, around log debris or beneath undercut banks. Feed on insects, fishes and crustaceans. Spawn between October and February.
