Etymology: Choerodon: Greek, choiros = a pig + Greek, odous = teeth (Ref. 45335); albofasciatus: Name from Latin 'albo' for white and 'fasciatus' for 'envelope with bands', referring to the prominent white stripe on the side as part of the initial phase colouration of this species.
