Raggi dorsali molli (totale): 81-89; Raggi anali molli: 60 - 65; Vertebre: 42 - 43. This species is distinguished by the following characters: D 81-89; A 60-65; moderately large eyes (2.3-2.9%SL); slender body, pointed snout, no cirri; cheeks with scales; no upper preopercular pore (occasionally a pore on one side); outer pseudoclasper broad-based, small, while the inner one small, anteriorly inclined flap; otolith length to height 2.1-2.3, with distinct postdorsal projection, otolith length to sulcus length 1.6-1.7, ostium length to cauda length 3.0-3.3; vertebrae 12 + 30-31 = 42-43 (Ref. 81230).
