Morphology | Morphometrics
Vertebrae: 33 - 34. Distinguished by the following characters: brown lines (sometimes zigzag lines) between the rows of scales; a distinct round black caudal spot, not continued on the middle caudal rays; a very faint, vertically humeral spot; caudal peduncle deeper than long; 30-35 branched anal fin rays; 32-35 scales on lateral line; 6 scales above lateral line; 4 to 4 1/2 scales below lateral line; 8-9 scales in a regularly row in the predorsal region; three supraneurals; 33-34 vertebrae and a relatively large eye, about 1.87-2.41 times in head length (Ref. 55829).
