Etymology: Fundulopanchax: Latin, fundus = bottom; a peculiar name for a topminnow, coined for a bottom species of Atlantic coast being "the abode of the fundulus mudfish" + Greek, soma = body. More on author: Ahl.
Aphyosemion kribianum Radda, 1975 is considered as valid as Fundulopanchax kribianus (Radda, 1975) in Eschmeyer (CofF ver. 30 Apr. 2013: Ref. 93382) following Malumbres & Castelo (2001: Ref. 44365). Please send references or more studies are needed.
