পৃষ্ঠীয় কাঁটা (মোট ): 8 - 11; পৃষ্ঠীয় নরম পাখনা দন্ড (মোট ): 8-10; পায়ূর নরম পাখনা্তুন্ড: 6 - 7; কশেরুকা : 35 - 37

Occurs in habitats with moderate turbulence over gravel and small cobble substrate. Seems to concentrate in vegetated areas when present. Also found in eddying currents along vegetated or cobble shorelines.
