Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 7; Rayons mous anaux: 6. Dorsal series of lateral scutes on both sides not meeting along the middorsal line between the end of dorsal-fin base and the adipose fin; both tooth lobes approximately equal size; orbital diameter 12.0-14.7% HL (Ref. 42856).
Occurs in small rivers, with clear water, moderate to strong current, and a substrate of rocks, loose stones and gravel (Ref. 57859).
