Épines dorsales (Total): 7; Rayons mous dorsaux (Total): 113; Épines anales 1; Rayons mous anaux: 9 - 10; Vertèbres: 34 - 36. Distinguished by the following characters: posterior interorbital pore paired laterally; second dorsal fin usually I,11-12; vertebrae 34-36 (Ref. 55841).
Occurs in swamps, backwaters, well vegetated slow-flowing creeks and rocky pools (Ref. 2847).
