Diagnosis: mouth subinferior; two pairs of long barbels, anterior pair 1.05-3.1x eye diameter, posterior pair 1.3-3.6x; 26-30 scales in lateral line; 12 scales around caudal peduncle; last simple ray of dorsal fin flexible and smooth; 5-6 gill rakers on lower limb of first gill arch; 2 round spots beneath dorsal fin, 1 spot on caudal peduncle (Ref. 81639).
