Myomeres 47-49, usually 9-10 + 38-39 through flexion stage, 12-15 + 33-36 in postflexion stage; 1st dorsal fin origin above to behind anal fin origin; double row of melanophores along ventral margin beginning in flexion stage, reaching pelvic fin bases by 10.5 mm (usually more uniform series than similar pigment in A. affinis. Pigmentation: Preflexion-postflexion: 1 added over forebrain, at each nostril, under preopercle, in otic capsule by about 7.5 mm; increasing on head in postflexion stage; 18-27 on dorsal margin; 10-20 on lateral midline, extending to pectoral fin base by 10.5 mm; on ventral margin beginning posteriorly during flexion stage, extending forward as double row, reaching pelvic fin bases by about 10.5 mm; spreading ventrad to surround gut by about 15 mm. Transformation: broad lateral stripe; heavy on dorsum; double row on ventrum; on caudal and middle 2nd dorsal fin rays. Sequence of fin development: caudal, 2nd dorsal and anal, pectorals, pelvics, 1st dorsal. |
