| Comments: | Spawning occurs mainly from November-January (Ref. 2). Spawns in surrounding pools, springs and lagoons. The saucer-shaped nest measures 15-60 cm in diameter, 6-19 cm in depth with a crest of 4-10 cm. There seems to be preference to breed in shallow waters (Ref. 670). | |||||||||||
