Comments: There is evidence that mature fish migrate to shallower waters prior to the spawning period and also tend to concentrate in 'shoals' on the inshore grounds (Ref. 1084). The eggs and larvae are thought to be pelagic (Ref. 27203). Potential fecundity estimates range from 696,000 eggs for a 4-year-old fish to 1,353,000 eggs for a 10-year-old fish (Ref. 27198).
