Comments: Spawning occurs mainly from June to August (Ref. 55). Fecundity of 1 female of 12.5 kg (see above) is the same as that of 212 females of 1.1 kg each (Ref. 12805). This strongly supports the concept of 'no- take' marine reserve areas, from which large old females export eggs and larvae into fished areas (Refs. 12805, 12806).
