Comments: Accidentally introduced in a consignment of Chinese carp fry. Escaped into the Syr-Darya river via outlet channels. Numerous transports of fish seed helped them to penetrate into basins of other rivers (Ref. 37893). As a result of its faster rate of growth and greater fecundity in Tashkent, than in its native range, it has partially displaced several native species, and fears have been expressed that it could eventually gain access to the rivers of the Caspian Sea (Ref. 13364).     Ref:  Khurshut, E.E., 2001
