Comments Introduced in the 1930s. Found in Haa, Paro and Thimphu rivers (Ref. 40882). Several individuals over 200 to 250 cm long were recorded from the Tang Chhu (River), a tributary of the Bumthang Chhu, just below Ugyen Choling (approx. 2500 m. asl). The Bhutanese government is beginning to promote flyfishing of trout due to tourist demand.May have been introduced from India (Carol Sanner, pers. comm.).
