Comments: | This fish has established in wild in Pakistan but no adverse effects on local fauna have been reported so far. It is a successful fish for polyculture in the ponds, dams and reservoirs. Catches are excellent in Lake Mangla where three varieties of this species are found (C. carpio specularis, C. carpio communis and C. carpio nudus). Ref: FAO, 1997 |
