Remarks | NF = 60; 8 metacentric and submetacentrics and 44 acrocentrics. Polymorphism is caused by Robertsonian transformation (2N= 50, 51, 52; NF= 60) and interpopulation differences is caused by the frequency of Robertsonian transformations (Ref. 6508 and 6509). DNA content = 0.98 pg (haploid) (Ref. 6414). Also Ref. 8971. Five highly variable microsatellite loci used to investigate population structuring in Pacifiic herring suggest that the populations from Kodiak island, two sites in the Bering sea and four sites within the Prince William Sound, Alaska were genetically distinct from each other (Ref. 27358). |
