Family:  Dasyatidae (Stingrays), subfamily: Dasyatinae
Max. size:  29 cm WD (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Vietnam to Japan, probably in the Philipinnes and Thailand.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Feed on bottom-dwelling organisms (Ref.50449); primarily small crustaceans, but also small fishes (Ref.58048). Ovoviviparous (Ref. 50449).
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU); Date assessed: 28 August 2019 (A2cd) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Found along east coast, especially in Palk Bay (Ref. 45255); Godavari estuary (Ref. 51036); Andaman and Nicobar Islands (Ref. 118627). Also Ref. 4832.
