Family:  Sinipercidae (Chinese perches)
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: China.
Diagnosis:  High body, side flat, with ridges on the backside. Upper and lower jaw not protruding. Some wavy stripes on the sides (Ref. 85820).
Biology:  A highly priced commercial fish (Ref. 89718).
IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened (NT); Date assessed: 21 January 2011 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from Guangdong Province in Dong Jiang and Bei Jiang drainages (Ref. 33450). Also found in the Zhujiang River (=Pearl River) and the Changjiang River (=Yangtze River) (Ref. 26563). Present in Pearl River (Ref. 89718). Known from Lechang county of Beijiang river system in Guangdong Province(Ref.33450). Also Ref. 31517, 35840.
