Family:  Schilbeidae (Schilbid catfishes)
Max. size:  28 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: India, Bangladesh and Nepal.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabit rivers, streams and canals (Ref. 1479). Oviparous, eggs are unguarded (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Known from Yamuna, the rivers of West Bengal, Assam, Bihar and Orissa (Ref. 4833). Found in Gangetic river systems (Ref. 41236) and Gumti and Manu rivers, Tripura (Ref. 97593). Also Ref. 45255.
