Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7.2 - 7.4, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: only known from upper Comoé River, around Banfora in Burkina Faso (Ref. 3788, 44596).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  This species is found in brooks with a sandy bottom, with a water depth between 20 and 50 cm (Ref. 44596).

Country info:  Type locality of the holotype of Roloffia banforensis: '15 km nördlich Banfora, Obervolta, 85 km südwestlich von Bobo Dioulasso im Comoé-Einzug' (Ref. 44596). Only known from upper Comoé River around Banfora (Ref. 272, 3006, 3788, 44596).
