Family:  Pomacanthidae (Angelfishes)
Max. size:  6 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 15 - 40 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Southeast Atlantic: endemic to the Ascension Island.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  The habitat of this species consists of rock and rubble at depths of from 15 m to at least 40 m. Has been reared in captivity (Ref. 35409).

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Type locality: Ascension I. among coral boulders at 20m; holotype: BMNH 1974.12.20.1. (Ref. 123411). Found in rubble below 10 m depth; often in the company of large numbers of Stegastes sp. (Ref. 86997). Also Ref. 5288, 4858.
