Distribution:  Asia: Malay Peninsula, Java, Sumatra and Borneo. Reports of this species from Mekong, Mae Khlong, Bang Pakong and Chao Phraya River drainages in mainland Southeast Asia are misidentifications of Kryptopterus geminus.
