Family:  Bagridae (Bagrid catfishes)
Max. size:  17.7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 5.80000019073486 - 8; dH range: 30, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar and Indonesia. Also Bhutan (Ref. 40882).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in lakes, tanks, rivers, canals and beels. Oviparous, distinct pairing possibly like other members of the same family (Ref. 205). Caught with other fishes from fishing operations.

Threat to humans:  harmless
Country info:  Occurs in Janakpur, Kosi, Narayani zones at altitudes of 76-450 m; all species of Mystus fetched 90 Rs/kg in the Kathmandu market in March 1992 (Ref. 9496). Also Ref. 4833, 41236.
